'The Vampire Diaries' drops 580,000

Last night's episode of The Vampire Diaries pulled in 3.73m for The CW, according to early viewing figures.

The 8pm instalment, titled 'The Turning Point', was down around 580k on last week's episode, which managed 4.31m - the highest figure since its premiere in September.

Later on The CW, Supernatural logged 2.74m during the 9pm hour.

Over on CBS, Survivor: Samoa interested 12.31m at 8pm, 14.95m tuned in for CSI at 9pm, and the 10pm screening of The Mentalist drew 15.79m.

Community and Parks And Recreation put in 5.06m and 4.61m for NBC during the 8pm hour, then The Office had 7.43m at 9pm. 30 Rock followed at 9.30pm, grabbing 5.86m, and The Jay Leno Show attracted 4.82m at 10pm.

ABC's FlashForward hit a new series low of 8.01m, representing a massive drop since its premiere, which logged 12.41m on Thursday, September 24. Later on the Alphabet, Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice were seen by 14m and 8.99m at 9pm and 10pm respectively.

Bones had 9.85m for Fox at 8pm, then the audience dropped to 5.89m during the 9pm screening of Fringe.
