South Park has continued highlighting censorship hypocrisy by challenging Comedy Central to broadcast a cartoon of the Prophet Muhammed.

The latest episode of the show demonstrated that it was okay to broadcast Jesus defecating on George Bush and the American flag, but not an image of the Prophet.

One character – Kyle – urges the network to allow another cartoon in the show to show the Muslim prophet. "Either it's all okay, or none of it is," he demands. "Do the right thing."

In the episode, bosses decide to allow it, but when the image is supposedly displayed, a caption appears. It reads: "Comedy Central have refused to broadcast an image of Muhammad on their network."

The decision follows recent international protests after a Danish newspaper published caricatures of the prophet. Comedy Central defended its decision, saying in a statement: "In light of recent world events, we feel we made the right decision.”

South Park’s writers have made statements in episodes since the network cancelled a show about Scientology. It was reported that the decision was a result of pressure from powerful Scientologists.
