The footballer was asked to star as himself after joining the LA Galaxy team, but sources close to Beckham have claimed that he can't forgive producers for making reference to his alleged affair with Rebecca Loos in a Christmas special.
Marge Simpson hosted Channel 4's Alternative Christmas Message in 2004, and compared her relationship with Homer to the Beckhams' marriage: "Our union is as solid as the union between your David Beckham and Posh Spice. Oh, he did that? With his assistant? That's so sad. Okay, moving on."
Groening confirmed: "Beckham didn't want to take part, but never mind."
