Polls indicating high levels of support for the writers' strike have been welcomed by the Writers Guild of America.

A nationwide survey carried out by the Graziadio School of Business Management at Pepperdine University showed 63% in favour of the striking writers with 4% in favour of the networks and studios. 33% said they were unsure.

Another poll carried out by SurveyUSA in Los Angeles reported that 69% of adults familiar with the strike supported the writers.

"We’re gratified by this tremendous show of nationwide support," said WGA, West president Patric M. Verrone. "These polls prove that the public understands what is at stake here. Our fight represents the fight of all American workers for a fair deal."
