The Bachelorette will be back on the air after a three year absence, ABC has confirmed.

The network has given the green light for production on a new season of the show, which over an initial four season run between 2003 and 2005 managed one successful pairing, that between Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter.

The fifth run will air this summer. The show becomes the second reality series to be resurrected by ABC this week; on Wednesday, it emerged that The Mole will also be coming back to the network after a four year break.
