Trachtenberg joins 'Gossip Girl'

Michelle Trachtenberg has signed up to appear in several episodes of Gossip Girl.

The actress (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Six Feet Under) will play Georgina Sparks, who appears in the Gossip Girl novels.

The character arrives in Manhattan after leaving rehab and causes problems for Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively).

Trachtenberg's Gossip Girl episodes will air in the US this spring. The first season airs in the UK on ITV2 from next week.
