'24's Cuthbert to lead in US 'Ny-Lon'

Elisha Cuthbert has signed up for her first television role since 24, taking a lead role in the US remake of Ny-Lon.

The drama is about a woman from New York and British stockbroker who meet in London then strike up a relationship.

CBS has ordered a one-hour pilot based on the original Channel 4 series from 2004.

Cuthbert has focused on movies since leaving her role as Jack Bauer's daughter Kim in 24. In Ny-Lon she will play the female, called Eddie, who is a literacy teacher and record store clerk.

Johnny Whitworth (CSI: Miami) will play her ex-boyfriend while Caterina Scorsone will play her bohemian roommate.
