Fall Premiere
John Stamos ("Full House") and Melissa George ("Sugar & Spice" ) star as Johnny and Rita, two master thieves coerced into stealing on behalf of the U.S. government. Jim Leonard and Academy Award-winning producers Anne and Arnold Kopelson executive-produce this sexy, action-packed window into the world of burglary, espionage and the battle of the sexes, in "Thieves." The one-hour drama series premieres Friday, September 28 (9 - 10PM, ET), on the ABC Television Network.
Note: This programme was originally scheduled to air September 21.
Meet Johnny (Stamos) and Rita (George). Johnny is old- school style and charm; he's all about intricate plots, precision timing and think-before-you-shoot. In fact Johnny doesn't like guns. Rita is high-tech brass and nerve; she's all about sophisticated gadgets, explosives and shoot-from- the-hip first, ask questions later.
In the premiere episode, "Pilot," Johnny and Rita collide while trying to single-handedly pull off the biggest diamond heist of all time. They discover that the only way to possibly succeed is to work together. Lightning fast and smooth as silk, they close in on the treasure -- if only they hadn't locked the keys in the getaway car!
They're caught red-handed by the FBI, but are offered a get-out-of-jail (not-so-) free card: Johnny and Rita can avoid the pen by recovering missing government property -- national art treasures, underworld secrets, nuclear launch codes -- anything the feds have lost, Johnny and Rita must find. It's a lifetime sentence to avoid a lifetime sentence, and the only thing hotter than the merchandise is the sexual tension between this dynamic duo.
"Thieves" stars John Stamos as Johnny, Melissa George as Rita and Robert Knepper as Agent Oliver Shue.
Guest starring in the season premiere are Tone Loc as Agent Al Trundel, Sofia Milos as Paulie, Max Perlich as Leo Kanowski, Claudio Masciulli as Fat Tony Rebecker, Tannis Burnett as Irene, Cabral Richards as the limo driver, Salvatore Migliore as the video store clerk, Rosemary Radcliffe as the apartment owner and Tabitha Lupien as the witness.
"Thieves" is executive-produced by Jim Leonard, Arnold Kopelson and Anne Kopelson, created by Jim Leonard. The series is from Kopelson Telemedia, in association with Warner Bros. Television.
"Thieves" is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format, with 5.1-channel surround sound.
