Season Premiere

The Barones are mortified when, at open school night, Michael reads aloud a story he wrote about an angry family whose members are always yelling at one another, on the sixth-season premiere of Everybody Loves Raymond, Monday, September 24 (9 - 9.30PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Philip Rosenthal, the series' executive producer, wrote the episode, which was directed by Gary Halvorson.

Ray and Debra are more than a little concerned when they realise that the constant bickering and screaming that goes on between them and Ray's parents are having an effect on young Michael. In an effort to make things better, the entire family meets with the school's counselor and a local clergyman (recurring guest star Charles Durning) to uncover what -- or who -- is to blame.

The multi-Emmy-nominated comedy series revolves around successful sportswriter Ray Barone (Ray Romano), who lives on Long Island with his wife, Debra (Patricia Heaton, who won an Emmy for the role last year), their 10-year-old daughter, Ally (Madylin Sweeten), and 6-year-old twin sons, Michael and Geoffrey (Sullivan and Sawyer Sweeten).

That's the good news. The bad news? Ray's meddling parents, Frank and Marie (Peter Boyle and Doris Roberts), live directly across the street and manage to infiltrate their son's home to an extent unparalleled in television history. Ray's brother, Robert (Brad Garrett), is an obsessive-compulsive cop who loves his brother but resents his success because, after all, everybody loves Raymond.

Everybody Loves Raymond is a production of Worldwide Pants Incorporated and HBO Independent Productions.
