Wolf Lake premieres on UPN

The supernatural drama series starring Lou Diamond Phillips, Tim Matheson, Graham Greene, Sharon Lawrence, Scott Bairstow, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Paul Wasilewski and Mia Kirshner - about a small Pacific Northwest town where the residents can shapeshift into wolves premieres Wednesday, April, 3 at 9pm on UPN. Bryan Spicer directed the premiere episode from a script by Executive Producers Alex Gansa and Rick Kellard.

Wolf Lake, which debuted last fall on CBS, is currently slated for a five episode run on UPN, which will include the premiere episode that was broadcast on CBS in September 2001 and four never-before-seen episodes.

Something strange is going on in the small, Pacific Northwest town of Wolf Lake. Something deadly. Some of the residents are humans who can shapeshift into wolves. Trouble is brewing, as the balance of power among the townspeople is about to shift along with the power from one alpha (leader) wolf to the next.

John Kanin (Phillips), a Seattle cop, arrives in Wolf Lake in search of his fiancée, Ruby (Kirshner), who has disappeared. As he searches for her, he meets Sheriff Matthew Donner (Matheson), the town's trusted law enforcement officer and loving father of 16-year-old Sophia (Winstead) who has begun to show odd, wolf-like signs that Matthew is afraid to acknowledge. It brings to mind Matthew’s conflicted feelings about his own ability to shapeshift.

Sophia has begun a romance with fellow student, Luke Cates (Wasilewski), son of the town's most powerful and respected industrialist, Willard Cates (Bruce McGill), and wife, Vivian (Lawrence). But, someone potentially more powerful, real estate developer Tyler Creed (Bairstow), is challenging Cates for supremacy among the human-wolf population.

Sherman Blackstone (Greene), a high school biology teacher is the keeper of all the town’s secrets. He alone knows the ancient lore about the town's mysterious relationship with wolves. As outsider Kanin delves further into the intrigue of Wolf Lake, he realises that there is more to this beautiful, dangerous town than meets the eye, and he intends to find out what it is.

In the premiere episode, Kanin finds himself searching for his fiancée, Ruby, who has mysteriously disappeared right before his eyes following a bloody attack. He follows an anonymous tip that leads him to the Pacific Northwest town of Wolf Lake with hopes of locating her. Sheriff Donner leads John in all the wrong directions. However the sheriff's daughter, Sophia, gives John hope to stick around for more clues. Meanwhile, science teacher, Blackstone, seems to know more about Ruby's disappearance, convincing John to dig a little deeper.

Wolf Lake airs on Wednesday, April 3 at 9pm ET/PT on UPN.
