'ER' pair working on new police series

Two key members of the production team behind ER are working on a new police drama seen as a potential successor to their medical show.

NBC has ordered a pilot from producer John Wells, who is working with executive producer Christopher Chulack.

Ann Biderman (Primal Fear, Copycat) is writing the pilot, provisionally titled NYPD, and will executive produce with Wells and Chulack.

ER is approaching its final season and NBC is said to be looking for a replacement.
