Disney Channel scores hit with 'Camp Rock'
Published Monday, Jun 23 2008, 14:00 BST | By Dave West

The film, which stars fraternal pop trio The Jonas Brothers, drew an average of 8.9 million viewers between 8pm and 10pm. The figures were enough to make the cable network the most-watched channel of the night, ahead of all broadcast networks, and a clear 3.1 million viewers ahead of its nearest competitor, CBS.
The movie became the channel's second most-watched movie premiere ever, but was still some way behind the massive 17.2m audience for High School Musical 2 last summer.
Camp Rock will air on the Disney Channel in the UK in September.
