Mel B, Springer to host Miss Universe

Mel B and Jerry Springer will host the Miss Universe pageant, People reports.

This year's ceremony, which will air live on NBC, takes place in Vietnam on July 13.

Mel B said in a statement: "I'm thrilled to be a co-host of the Miss Universe pageant. I believe the diversity and dedication that the pageant brings inspires and empowers young women across the globe."

Co-host Springer added: "This is obviously a great honour and getting to work alongside Mel B makes it even better."

Mel B's new TV show The Singing Office, which pits employees against each other in a singing contest, begins this month on US network TLC.
