'Criminal Minds' spinoff in development

"It's safe to say there will be something soon," said Ed Bernero, adding that talks between producers and broadcaster CBS were at a "substantive" stage.
"We had talked about it from the beginning, but something always got in the way of it happening," he said. "But it's definitely gaining momentum now."
The form of the spinoff has not been decided and Bernero said producers were "looking at all of the things the FBI does and how we can work that into the Criminal Minds". Whether the show will feature an all-new cast or whether there will be crossovers also has yet to be confirmed.
The concept is expected to be introduced in a special episode in Minds' upcoming season.
