Hoff: 'Knight Rider' return was my idea

David Hasselhoff has claimed that the revival of Knight Rider, which is currently being developed as a series, was his idea.

"I said to them why don't we bring back Knight Rider with me and a new car?" the actor told BBC Radio 1.

"So they called me back and said, 'We love this idea - you're not in it, but we love it'!"

A pilot film based on the 1980s show was a ratings success for NBC in the winter and a season will begin airing on the network this autumn.
