'Sit Down, Shut Up' faces pay dispute
Sit Down, Shut Up, the new animated series from the creator of Arrested Development, could be delayed or cancelled because of a writers' pay dispute.

The 14 writers of the show, which is in production for Fox, walked out in mid June, it has emerged, claiming that they had been misled over the nature of their contracts.

They believed they would be covered by Writers Guild of America terms, but producer Sony Pictures is applying those of the IATSE union.

A new offer was made on June 23 and, according to Hollywood Reporter, writers have been negotiating since. However, production has already been delayed by a month and Sony has threatened to cancel the project if no agreement is reached.

Mitch Hurwitz has hired two long-time Simpsons executive producers for Sit Down as well as three actors from Arrested Development to voice parts.
