US drama series Army Wives has been renewed for a third season by the Lifetime network.
The news has been announced by Lifetime president Andrea Wong just five weeks after the premiere of the show's second season, which is running for 18 episodes.
"Announcing this early renewal is a testament to the enormous faith and confidence we have in this show and its incredibly talented cast and production team," Wong said.
Army Wives centres around a group of four women who live with their partners on an Army post, as well as an "Army husband", whose wife serves in the force.
Since its launch in 2007, the show has established itself as the top drama among the key demographics for Lifetime, which is aimed at women.
