'Nip/Tuck' to end after sixth season
Published Wednesday, Jul 16 2008, 09:41 BST | By Neil Wilkes

The drama, which stars Julian McMahon and Dylan Walsh as plastic surgeons, will end with its 100th episode in early 2011.
FX president John Landgraf said the decision was made to avoid comprimising the show's quality. "It's really hard to be commercially successful and creatively excellent, especially when you have serialised shows," he told reporters on Tuesday. "I believe they have a diminishing return. If you had 150 episodes of The Sopranos or The Shield, you would diminish the calibre of those shows."
The final eight episodes of Nip/Tuck's 22-episode fifth season will air in early 2009. The 19 episodes of season six are expected to go out from late 2010.
Executive producer Ryan Murphy has signed on for the remainder of the show's run.
