'Banzai' to launch in July on FOX

Banzai is the latest British series to make the transatlantic hop - with an American version of Channel 4's show set to launch on FOX next month.
Sunday, July 13 will be the show's first full airing on the network; although Zap2it reports that there are already worries that the series may be pulled from the air. In 2001, the site reports, USA Network aired clips from the Channel 4 show on Banzai Movie Friday - Zap2it reports that some Asian-American groups objected to "the stereotypical accents in the voice-overs." Apparently the idea of the series being a spoof of Japanese game shows hasn't quite made the transatlantic hop yet.
American viewers will however hopefully enjoy betting from home on items such as how long Mr. Shake Hands Man can shake hands with Kelsey "Frasier" Grammer, not to mention a competition between a dog and Diff'rent Strokes' Todd Bridges in a stick-fetching competition. The first episode airs at 8:30pm ET on July 13.
