Blair: Holmes was too tall for 'Creek'

Selma Blair has admitted that she was surprised to lose out to Katie Holmes for a role in teen drama Dawson's Creek.

The Hellboy star thought she had the part of Joey Potter sewn up because her rival, a then-unknown Katie Holmes, was too tall.

WENN quoted Blair as saying: "Holmes got it fair and square... [but] I remember seeing her walk into the [audition] room and thinking, 'She is just the tallest girl. There's no way they'll give it to her. She won't even fit on camera.' Then I ate my words. She was adorable."

Blair confessed at the start of the year that she was often mistaken for Holmes's husband Tom Cruise after having her hair cut short.
