FOX wants more 'Paradise Island'
Published Thursday, Jul 17 2003, 08:33 BST | By Neil Wilkes
FOX has ordered a further six weeks of relationship-based reality series Paradise Island, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The show, which airs Mondays and Wednesdays, centres around 13 young singles living in an exotic island resort. Each week they have to pair up so that one is eliminated and a new contestant can be brought in.
Paradise premiered on June 18 to lacklustre ratings but has steadily been increasing since, with particular movements in the coveted 16 - 34 market.
"We're delighted that the audience has found the show and that Fox has given us such a terrific support," executive producer Tom Gutteridge said. "We're thrilled to be extended so soon into our run."
FOX said there would be a "seamless" transition between the initial eight-week run and the extra episodes, despite trails for the show's end having already begun.
