Dennis Haysbert is returning for the third season of 24, FOX have revealed.
The news indicates that the President has survived the assassination attempt at the end of season two. As the third season will be taking place three years in the future, Palmer is likely to be in the middle of a re-election campaign.
Jack, meanwhile, will be back working at CTU alongside his daughter Kim, who has joined the team. Jack will also have a new partner.
Like last season, the first episode of season three will be commercial-free. Ford will again sponsor the debut, with an extended ad piece at the top and tail of the episode.
The premiere is scheduled for 9pm on Thursday, October 28. A four-minute teaser trailer will air during FOX's showing of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon on Sunday, September 7. A version of the trailer will play out in movie theatres through October.
