CBS: Katie Couric's news job is safe
Published Thursday, Jul 24 2008, 09:29 BST | By Dave West

The bulletin has undergone a makeover since Couric took over, leaving NBC, in September 2006, but it has remained firmly behind rivals in the ratings.
CBS News president Sean McManus said rumours she would leave following the presidential election were untrue. Couric added: "We have no plans to part company any time soon."
Meanwhile, the anchor has sparked controversy with comments about sexism quoted by an Israeli newspaper this week.
"I find myself in the last bastion of male dominance, and realising what Hillary Clinton might have realised not long ago," she apparently said. "Sexism in the American society is more common than racism and certainly more acceptable or forgiveable."
Her spokesman told the Daily Mail that Couric did not mean to say sexism was "more prevalent" than racism.
