Fox picks up Oz drama 'The Informant'
Fox has acquired the remake rights to Australian drama series The Informant.

The show, created by Greg Haddrick, focuses on Richard Button, a suburban dad who works as a police informant for a federal investigative agency. The character's background is shrouded in mystery, with intelligence officers seeking to uncover the truth about his past by working with him.

Tom Szentgyorgyicq, who is adapting the format for Fox, told The Hollywood Reporter: "It's a blend of a spy undercover procedural and a family story about his life at home."

Australian TV has proved a popular source for new US shows. NBC's Kath & Kim and Fox's Sit Down, Shut Up both originated down under.
