ABC pledges no-repeat timeslot
Published Tuesday, Oct 28 2003, 22:06 GMT | By James Welsh
ABC has announced that it intends the 10pm timeslot on Tuesdays to be a repeat-free zone for this season.
Plans to schedule repeats of NYPD Blue in the slot have been shelved in favour of rolling out a new drama, Line of Fire, from December 2 through next February. ABC Entertainment president Susan Lyne explained:
"NYPD Blue has always had very demanding production and post-production schedules. When we looked at their delivery calendar for December and January, our choices were to air Blue repeats, or use this as an opportunity to launch a strong new drama. Given the competition in that hour, the fact that we can have original programming Tuesdays at 10:00 p.m. gives us a much stronger mid-winter schedule."
