CBS plans 'Hawaii Five-O' remake

Criminal Minds showrunner Ed Bernero will pen a new version of Hawaii Five-O for CBS, says The Hollywood Reporter.
Bernero, such a fan of the original show that he has its theme song as his ringtone, described his take as "Hawaii Five-O 2.0".
He said: "We will try to keep as much of the original show as possible. I'm not trying to reinvent it."
The Leonard Freeman-created cop series, which ran on CBS from 1968 to 1980, focused on a fictional Hawaiian state police unit led by Steve McGarrett (Jack Lord). The new series will revolve around McGarrett's son Chris.
CBS recently announced plans for a present-day remake of its popular '70s cop drama The Streets Of San Francisco.
