'Reagans' shunted to Showtime

CBS has said it will not be airing a controversial film on President Reagan on its broadcast network. It has instead licensed the film to premium cable network Showtime.
In a statement, CBS said:
"Although the miniseries features impressive production values and acting performances, and although the producers have sources to verify each scene in the script, we believe it does not present a balanced portrayal of the Reagans for CBS and its audience."
Some conservatives and supporters of the former president had criticised the film, and the AP reported some advertisers had threatened a boycott.
