The network has given the Journeyman creator a pilot order for the remake, currently using the working title Eva Adams, which focuses on a lothario who transforms into a woman and experiences life as a member of the opposite sex.
The hour-long episode will be based in the world of sports management and fashion.
Falls penned the pilot script and will serve as executive producer along with Jamie Tarses.
The Dori Media Group, which produced the South American original, is planning to reinvent the format with a "new type of telenovela" for the US remake.
Lalola originally aired on Argentina's America TV.
