NBC's television shows will once again be available on iTunes, Apple CEO Steve Jobs has confirmed.
Speaking at the launch of iTunes 8, Jobs said that NBC programming will be available in high definition and priced at the same as content from other television networks: $2.99 for HD and $1.99 for standard definition.
The move constitutes a sharp reversal for NBC, which pulled its content from the iTunes Store last year when it unveiled Hulu, a video on demand site operated jointly with News Corp that offers free, ad-supported shows in a quality lower than standard definition but slightly higher than other streaming sites such as YouTube. Apple accused NBC of attempting to force an iTunes price hike, while NBC chief executive Jeff Zucker suggested iTunes pricing model could "destroy" the film and television industry.
Commercial terms of the renewed deal were not disclosed.
