Fox has given a series greenlight to the Tim Roth pilot Lie To Me.
The network has ordered 13 episodes of the crime procedural for a midseason launch, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The show focuses on Roth's Cal Lightman, a man with the ability to read body language and speech to aid criminal and private investigations for organisations such as the FBI, police and law firms.
The character has been likened to Hugh Laurie's Dr. Gregory House. Kelli Williams, Brendan Hines and Monica Raymund are also among the cast.
"It has the commercial potential to be a franchise where you can tell episodic stories for five to six seasons, while creatively it has real integrity and a fresh hook that are hard to come by in a crime show," said Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly.
Creator Sam Baum will executive produce the show with Brian Grazer, David Nevins and Steve Maeda.
