The singer has teamed up with South Park writer Joe Kimmel for Alligator Boots, and he hosts the pilot episode.
If picked up, the series will be screened in 2009 and will feature celebrities and puppet characters.
West was recently seen testing out new material at an airport.
He approached Jenny Lewis from indie band Rilo Kiley and asked her to listen to two tracks.
She said: "He looked over and said, 'Excuse me, would you mind listening to my new track?' And so he put his headphones on my head and I listened to two of his new songs. He had no idea who I was. I guess he was doing research."
