Ex-Law & Order actor Jesse L. Martin is in talks to star in NBC's The Philanthropist.
Martin will play Philip Maidstone, sidekick to the show's lead character Teddy Rist (James Purefoy), a rogue billionaire who uses his wealth and power to help people regardless of the risks or costs, says The Hollywood Reporter.
Filming is expected to kick off next March in London, with location shoots also scheduled for South Africa and the Czech Republic.
In addition to his nine-year stint as Detective Ed Green on Law & Order, Martin has also appeared in Rent and Ally McBeal.
