Salma Hayek is to appear in hit US television show 30 Rock.
The From Dusk Til Dawn star, 42, took a role alongside Alec Baldwin and Jane Krakowski in the sitcom following a personal phone call from show creator Tina Fey.
A source said: "Tina Fey, who writes and appears on the show, was so desperate for Salma to appear in it that she called her herself. Salma has now agreed - she will appear in two episodes as a character, not as herself."
By taking a part in the show, Hayek joins the likes of Jerry Seinfeld, Jennifer Aniston and Oprah Winfrey, who have recently completed guest stints.
