ABC Family has picked up a pilot for a TV adaptation of 10 Things I Hate About You.
The 1999 film, which stared Heath Ledger, revolved around a high school newcomer who attempts to win the girl of his dreams by finding a boyfriend for her unpopular sister. It was loosely based on William Shakespeare's The Taming Of The Shrew.
Gil Junger, director of the original film, will also helm the pilot. Carter Covington will write and executive produce.
ABC has also greenlit the Alexa Vega pilot Ruby And The Rockits, about a fallen teen idol whose life is turned upside down when his brother turns up with a teenage daughter.
Both pilots will go into production in Los Angeles in the autumn.
