Producer Mark Burnett has joined forces with Ralph Edwards Productions to redevelop the classic programme, which sees celebrity guests reunited with people from their past.
The reality mogul, who is behind the US versions of Survivor and The Apprentice, was elected into the Broadcast and Cable Hall of Fame in 2007.
President of Ralph Edwards Prods, Barbara Dunn-Leonard, said: "This Is Your Life is one of the most enduring programmes to air on television, and we are thrilled to be bringing it back with the top producer of unscripted entertainment."
The format launched on radio in 1948 and aired on NBC in the 1950s and early 1960s. A brief revival followed in 1972, before a further remake was developed in 2005 but never aired.
Ralph Edwards, the creator of the show, died at the age of 92 in 2005.
