FCC to investigate Super Bowl halftime show

America's Federal Communications Commission will launch an investigation into Sunday night's controversial Super Bowl halftime show, it was announced today.
The Commission's chairman, Michael Powell, said:
"I am outraged at what I saw during the halftime show of the Super Bowl. Like millions of Americans, my family and I gathered around the television for a celebration. Instead, that celebration was tainted by a classless, crass and deplorable stunt. Our nation’s children, parents and citizens deserve better.
“I have instructed the Commission to open an immediate investigation into last night’s broadcast. Our investigation will be thorough and swift."
At the end of a joint performance by Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake in the MTV-produced halftime show airing on CBS, Timberlake reached over and ripped off a part of Jackson's costume, revealing her right breast to an estimated 140m viewers.
