Following the network's successful revival of the 90210 brand, plans are underway to introduce the new incarnation of Melrose Place as early as next autumn.
Airing on Fox from 1992 to 1999, Melrose Place, itself a spinoff from Beverley Hills, 90210, revolved around the young residents of a West Hollywood apartment complex.
Heather Locklear, Rob Estes, Courtney Thorne-Smith, Andrew Shue, Thomas Calabro and Josie Bissett starred in the show.
Melrose Place creator Darren Star, who is not expected to be involved in the new version, told TV Guide earlier in the month that a remake "would be a fun thing to do. I wouldn't be surprised if it happened - if it can be put together in the right way".
