'Anna Nicole Show' axed

Wacky fly-on-the-wall reality series The Anna Nicole Show has been axed after two seasons, it has been confirmed.
The E! Entertainment channel has decided not to go ahead with another run of the show, which follows millionaire's widow Anna Nicole Smith in her daily life. Instead the show will return for a number of one-off specials, beginning with Anna Nicole Bares All on February 22.
Executives stressed that the cancellation was not due to ratings - which remained high albeit 50% down on the first series - but for creative reasons.
"The show, creatively, was not where we wanted it to be," Mark Sonnenberg, E!'s executive VP of entertainment, told Daily Variety. "Based on the ratings alone, the answer would have been yes (to a third season). We just think a series of specials is a better way to present Anna."
