'Kath', 'Samantha' earn full orders

ABC has requested another seven episodes of Christina Applegate sitcom Samantha, taking its second season tally to 20 episodes.
The first three episodes of the new season have averaged 10.5 million viewers, making it the second most-watched Monday night comedy behind Two And A Half Men on CBS.
Kath & Kim, a remake of the Australian comedy, has been granted a back nine order by NBC, taking its tally to 22 episodes. Its average viewership for Thursday night is 6 million.
NBC Entertainment executive vice president Teri Weinberg told The Hollywood Reporter: "Kath & Kim is a show we love and believe in. We have incredible confidence in the creative auspices of this show, and we believe it's a perfect fit with our Thursday-night comedies."
