Kingston, 45, will revive her on-screen character Dr. Elizabeth Corday in flashback scenes. The Lost In Austen actress told The Sun: "I've been gone five years but it seems like yesterday. It'll be great to see everyone again."
Kingston is one of a number of former ER regulars making a return for the final run. Executive producer David Zabel said last month that storylines for the 15th and last season had been drawn up for all major past characters, including Kingston's on-screen husband Anthony Edwards.
Edwards, whose character Dr. Mark Greene died in season eight, has agreed to return for the flashback scenes. A plot was also planned for George Clooney's Dr. Ross; however, the star has apparently declined the offer.
