The CW to ditch Sunday night MRC block

The CW will reportedly overhaul its Sunday night programming schedule, axing its Media Rights Capital-produced shows in the process.
The network contracted production company MRC to provide programmes for its Sunday night lineup in May, but poor ratings prompted CW execs to shut down production on two of its series - Valentine and Easy Money.
CW head John D. Maatta wrote in a letter to network affiliates: "The MRC shows are simply not working. Our plan is to programme Sunday with distinctive, first-rate programming that can quickly stabilise the night.
"We will work with you to promote and market this new night, with a lineup that will include quality scripted series and contemporary theatrical titles."
For the 5pm-10pm slot, the network plans to air repeats of Everybody Hates Chris or The Game, The Drew Carey Show and Jericho, followed by a movie from 8pm.
However, an MRC spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter that Maatta's comments were premature and the company "is still in negotiations with the CW on all points of their deal".
