'Super Millionaire' picked up by ABC

Following a successful five-night run, ABC has announced that it will air Super Millionaire - a jazzed-up version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? - again in May.
The original primetime series on ABC was yanked after ratings fell, which was widely thought to be a result of the programme simply airing too regularly. The network has now moved to a strategy of using it as an "event" programme for short runs, as executive producer Michael Davies explains:
"With ‘Super Millionaire,’ the ‘Millionaire’ franchise is an event again. This is how this show was designed to be scheduled and it’s how it works best. Regis [Philbin, show's host] has been amazing and we’re both delighted with the early pick up. Neither of us can wait until May."
