Gary Sinise is in "early talks" to headline the new CSI: Crime Scene Investigation spinoff, according to reports.
The Forrest Gump actor had been in "on again, off again" talks with producers over the past month until negotations became more formalised late last week.
Casting for CSI: New York is on a tight schedule; the new group are set to be introduced in the penultimate episode of CSI: Miami this season.
