Luftu Murat Uckardesler said that Seacrest's new project Momma's Boys "willfully appropriated" his popular Turkish show Perfect Bride, which first aired in 2004.
Uckardesler filed papers to Manhattan's federal court on Monday. He wants the show pulled off the air because of copyright and trademark infringement.
Seacrest's reality show premiered last night.
"It's like me having a talent show and saying. 'We're going to pick the next American Idol," said Uckardesler's lawyer.
An NBC spokesperson claimed that the network "[was] familiar with the plaintiffs' allegations, which are entirely without merit".
