Grammer to lead ABC tycoon sitcom

Kelsey Grammer has signed up to star in a new untitled sitcom from ABC, Variety reports.

The actor will play a downsized corporate tycoon who begins to reconnect with his family in the Tucker Cawley-scripted pilot.

Since departing Frasier in 2004, Grammer has starred in Fox's short-lived newsroom sitcom Back To You with Patricia Heaton. He was also attached to ABC's adaptation of British comedy Roman's Empire, which was not picked up for series.

Cawley, a veteran of Everybody Loves Raymond, has been working on NBC's forthcoming Amy Poehler series.
