Turner Classic Movies (TCM) has announced plans to celebrate its tenth year of broadcasting.
April 14, 2004 will mark TCM's tenth anniversary. On the 7th, a new star will be placed on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Ted Turner, the channel's founder. Turner will ring the bell of the New York Stock Exchange on April 13, and a replica star will be placed in the network's Atlanta, GA headquarters on April 27.
Tom Karsch, senior VP and general manager of TCM, said: "It’s very rewarding to see the network becoming part of the culture of America. We’ve even been spoofed on Saturday Night Live. We’re continuing our vision of becoming the definitive brand for classic films and all that they inspire, from the attitude to the glamour to their larger-than-life impressions of what it means to be a star."
