CBS rewards 'HIMYM' cast with pay rise
Published Friday, Jan 9 2009, 16:50 GMT | By Simon Reynolds

Despite troubles with the economy, the network has upped the main cast's salaries to $90,000-$120,000 per episode.
Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Cobie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris and Alyson Hannigan have been in talks for months to get an increase on their current pay, which they viewed as too little in comparison with other ensemble dramas such as The Office. The new deals are retroactive to the start of this season (the show's fourth) and also add an extra year to the five principals' original five-year contracts.
How I Met Your Mother has shown a steady growth in ratings, with this season's 11th episode pulling in 11.44 million viewers. Last season, the Britney Spears-starring episode 'Ten Sessions' attracted more than 10 million.
