CBS to launch 'Island' online tie-in

New midseason mystery drama Harper's Island will be launched with interactive content and online video, says The Hollywood Reporter.
CBS is giving the show a multiplatform push by supplementing the April 9 series premiere with the website HarpersGlobe.com, which will continue the story through separate video content and interactive features.
Harper's Island executive producer Jon Turteltaub said: "The multiplatform, interactive elements at HarpersGlobe.com expand the whole experience of our show, which I feel is beyond necessary in the world of such rapidly changing media. We have to make our show an Internet event as well as a broadcast TV event."
Production company EQAL, which masterminded the web phenomenon 'lonelygirl15', is steering Harper's Island's online presence.
