John Wells's new police drama Southland will replace ER in NBC's Thursday night schedule.
Southland was recently granted a six-episode order by the network and will air in the 10pm slot once the Wells-produced medical drama concludes this season, says The Hollywood Reporter.
New drama Kings, which was initially going to take the ER timeslot, will now air on Sundays at 8pm leading into The Apprentice.
ER's 15th and final season was last week extended to 21 episodes by NBC.
