Idris Elba to guest in 'The Office'

Idris Elba will appear in NBC's The Office for a six-episode stint, says Variety.

The British actor, famed for his role as drug dealer Stringer Bell in HBO's The Wire, has been cast as a rival to Dunder Mifflin boss Michael Scott (Steve Carell).

The character is described as a tough employee at Dunder Mifflin's corporate offices who causes turmoil in Scott's life.

Elba's recent credits include RocknRolla, American Gangster and 28 Weeks Later.
